Skills is excited to announce that the new Level 5 Advanced Scaffolding qualification is available for enrolment from 14 September 2018.

Scaff two guysCompleting the Level 5 Advanced Scaffolding qualification means industry can install complex scaffolding. Completing the qualification also means you will have access to more employment opportunities.

The Level 5 will take 18 to 23 months from start to completion (depending on experience). You will need Level 5 in order to be eligible to apply for the Advanced Certificate of Compliance (CoC).

The Advanced qualification (which includes the Level 3 Proprietary Suspended) is achieved by completing 5x one-week block courses.


Anyone only enrolling in the Proprietary Suspended qualification will need to complete the Height Safety and Slinging Regular Loads training as well as attending 2x one-week block courses.

Proprietary Suspended and Advanced Scaffolding block courses will be run in Christchurch and Auckland. Courses may be run outside of these regions, if there is enough demand.

Please note - The Level 3 Proprietary Suspended qualification will be available to be enrolled in separately for those who only need their Proprietary Suspended CoC (Certificate of Competence).
