At Skills, like so many other workplaces across New Zealand, we are closely monitoring the coronavirus situation and its impact on our learners, assessors, employers and staff.
The spread of the virus and its effect is constantly evolving.
Many assessors and learners are asking us about the impact of COVID-19 on assessments.
So, here’s what we know so far:
Are we still assessing learners?
Yes, we are still assessing learners. However, we’re electing to do all face-to-face assessments for Real Estate learners via Skype.
If you need help setting up Skype meetings you can find instructions here. We have supplied learners with help on how to join Skype meetings, so please refer them there if they need assistance.
We are following all Government and Ministry of Health guidelines around best practice at this time. We will revisit our policies regularly and adjust as required.
If a contract assessor becomes unwell, we will look to appoint another assessor to complete the assessment on their behalf. If a workplace assessor becomes unwell, and there is no-one in your company who can complete your marking, please let us know. We will continue to remain in contact with all parties until that assessor is well and/or comfortable to return to assess for us.
Assessors who have recently returned from overseas need to advise us immediately as they will be required to adhere to the 14 Day self-isolation conditions mandated by the NZ Government. If assessors were scheduled to assess during this period, we will look to appoint another assessor in their absence.
If you have any concerns or queries please contact assessorinfo@skills.org.nz.
We will keep you updated
Please be assured that we will keep you updated. Again, this is an evolving situation and it is important to us that you know what is happening and are immediately contacted with any changes that may affect you.
