On 20 March the New Zealand Resuscitation Council recommended postponing routine first aid training courses until the current COVID-19 pandemic has passed and there is expert consensus that it is safe to participate in courses once more.
They also recommended the requirements for resuscitation training and re-certification be considered in light of the current concerns about COVID-19.
As a result, Skills will be temporarily extending the grace period for refresher training from 3 months to 5 months. We will re-visit the extension as the situation and advice from experts evolves.
Thank you for your support of New Zealand’s efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
