Theory and Practice, Level 4
Ready for a career that will always be in demand?  Industrial Measurement and Control (IMC) is the field for you!
Major manufacturing companies need IMC technicians to install, service, and repair their equipment.  This is a vital job as any downtime can cost thousands.

To enter these programmes we recommend you hold:

  • NCEA Level 2 in Mathematics, English, and Physics, OR
  • NCEA Level 2 in Mathematics, English, and General Science

The New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Measurement and Control (Theory) and (Practice) (Level 4) qualifications will take approximately 2 years to complete.  You will be doing both theory and practical work at the same time.

These qualifications are offered in partnership between Wintec and Skills.  Wintec will be facilitating your off-job learning through block courses and Skills will be facilitating your on-job learning with your employer.

The on-job, practical part of your apprenticeship will take approximately 1 year to complete and will cost $36 (including GST) per week. The off-job, theory work will take 2 years and costs $7,149 (including GST).
