You will have seen our recent news of a four-week fee suspension for apprentices. We wanted to let you know that this fee suspension also extends to those businesses who have paid their apprentices full year’s fees upfront.

You can choose how this happens:
1.    We can push out the date of your next annual invoice. So, if your next fee payment is due in August, for example, it now won’t be due until September; or
2.    We can transfer you over to a weekly or monthly Direct Debit payment.  That means you will receive a refund of any annual fees you have prepaid and your Direct Debit will then commence after the four-week suspension period.

If you’d like option 1, you don’t need to do anything.  We’ll do this for you automatically.

If you’d like option 2, you just need to contact us on 0508 SKILLS or receivables@skills.org.nz so we can get your Direct Debit up and running.

For those of you who are an electrical employer and pay an annual industry contribution, you’ll be pleased to know that the next industry contribution for each of your apprentices will also be pushed out for a month.

Again, we do understand there are employers facing financial hardship right now, so if you need to talk to us in more detail, do get in touch.

In the meantime, keep you and your team safe and well.
