Skills is the standard setting body for New Zealand’s emergency response services.

Emergencies happen, whether it’s a fire, a natural disaster, a medical event or an accident. We all rely on the people who respond in these events to be well trained to deal with the situation as it unfolds and to ensure that lives and property are protected and well looked after.

Skills now has coverage of all emergency response sectors. This includes Emergency Care, Fire and Rescue Services, Workplace Emergency Response, and Civil Defence. Information on Ambulance, First Responder/Pre-hospital Emergency Care, and First Aid can be found by clicking on the Emergency Care bullet point below.

More information is still to come for the Fire and Rescue, Civil Defence and other emergency response areas.
