Financial Services Who’s Who
The following organisations are involved in the delivery of Financial Services qualifications in New Zealand.
Skills has been the standard setting body for the Financial Services industry for over nine years. They are responsible for developing financial services qualifications, in consultation with industry, as well as ensuring the quality of their delivery.
Skills and the Financial Markets Authority are working together to develop the framework for alternative pathways to meet the new Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services. The options for this will include endorsement for non-accredited training providers, endorsement for large organisations with their own training and systems, and endorsement for individuals via a Skills Recognition Process.
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)
NZQA develop and maintain the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. They register the qualifications that Skills develop for Financial Services and they provide accreditation to tertiary training providers who deliver these qualifications. They also quality assure tertiary training providers.
NZQA is not directly involved in the delivery of training for the qualifications or alternative pathway for financial services.

Professional IQ College
Professional IQ College is an NZQA accredited training provider that offers the New Zealand Certificates in Financial Services, Levels 4 and 5.
Qualifications are delivered via an online distance learning dashboard that provides access to study guides and assessment documents anytime.
Strategi is an NZQA accredited training provider that offers the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services, Level 5.
Their courses are available via online learning, distance learning, classroom learning or one-on-one private coaching.
The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand
The Open Polytechnic is an NZQA accredited training provider that offers the New Zealand Certificates in Financial Services, Levels 4 and 5.
Programmes are delivered via online distance learning that provides access to all materials needed, so that students can study at any time.
