4098 Assessor Training

For New Assessors

Skills offer an assessor course designed so that you can achieve the 4098 unit standard “Use standards to assess candidate performance” by completing the online pre-learning modules (1-2 hours) and selecting the best course option for you below.

Course Options

1-Day Workshop

Capacity: 10 | Time: 9am – 4pm

The 1-day workshop is perfect for those who are new to the world of assessing. This is an interactive course where you will learn all about best assessment practice, engage in assessment activities and you will be guided through the assessment process.

Workplace (3 months)

This option allows you to complete the 4098 assessment within your workplace. You will need to be observed by someone who holds 4098 or can demonstrate equivalent skills or knowledge.

    Cost: $300 + GST

    • 12 August – Auckland (Full)
    • 2 September – Christchurch
    • 23 September – Auckland
    • 7 October – Wellington
    • 3 November – Auckland
    • 18 November – Wellington

    Note: The venue address will be provided after you have registered.

    For Existing Assessors

    If you already hold 4098 and need to complete a refresher course, we offer an online refresher module for Skills assessors for $95 +GST.

    Please note, once you receive confirmation of your registration, the following cancellation fees will apply:

      • Cancellation after registration and one week prior to the workshop/workplace course: 50% course fee will apply
      • Cancellation less than 1 week prior to the workshop/workplace course or no show: full fee will apply
      • Suitable substitutions are permitted; please contact us prior to the course to make arrangements

    If you are completing the assessment in your workplace, there is a 3 month timeframe to complete from the date of registration.
